The Production Process is the most fulfilling and the most frustrating part of any design process. It requires you to dig in the most and struggle through your creative blocks and adversity. When you find the outcome different from your original intent, you will look and see that even though it didn't come out exactly as planned, it may have some redeemable aspects. However many times artists go right back to the drawing board and start over again. The piles grow, and so does the frustration.
The artwork starts with an idea, and the idea flourishes into the concept which goes from your mind's eye to the pen and paper. Working out those ideas is often the best and most frustrating part of the whole process. You have to learn to overcome your discouragement in the process. You have to grow by sticking to your guns and making judgment calls. Sometimes those judgment calls don't feel the best, but they often follow your gut instincts. Just learn to trust what you know your heart says, and the process will start to come together.
The process consists of a few different elements in the production pipeline, especially true in animation. The process begins with an idea, setting, place, characters. Then in your mind's eye, the movie plays out in your head and unfolds. Before you know it you're looking for music to accompany your thoughts. You'll be scratching out designs before you know it. We call these a story bible. The story bible is an extensive collection of the artwork. It contains scriptwriting, storyboards, character sheets, and background stills to show the whole production.
In larger productions, they have lots of meetings. They have groups of artsists, storyboarders, script writers, and all kinds of talent to pull from and keep things organized by directors and leads. However, you can still do great work even solo, and that is the beauty of the production process. If you have the time, tenacity and any talent then just stick with it and do what you enjoy. Eventually, it will pay off for you with or without monetary gains.
Temptation of Christ
This animated short will focus on the scripture from Matthew, Mark, and Luke. I wanted to create it in the same fashion as Disney's Fantasia. This production will not have voice overs, but will be animated to music. I intend to have the opposite feelings and intentions as some of the great animations from Disney such as "Night on Bald Mountain".
Animation tests are currently underway for the production, the storyboards are in development still to flesh out the scenes. Here is just a sample of the animation pre-production to show. This is just a sample of animation tests underway. While the storyboards are still being developed, I am working on the animation as time allows. The storyboards will be done first, however these test animations are very important to capture the right shape and motion, and to catch problems early. I will be documenting the animation steps as I can get them finished. I am also putting up the new website to keep track of production steps.

Everything is still in production, and working towards animating things scene by scene.
Prince of Egypt styling will be making some tweaks so it's not so much like dreamworks. It will end up somewhere in the middle between my style and Prince of Egypt.

Satan Concept Artwork
New concept art has just recently been created for the animated short. The next phase will be the story boards, which will be completed very soon.
Very few know that "Night on Bald Mountain" was a very prolific music piece that was created on Saint's John Day and was an indirect tribute to the "Witch's Sabbath" by the Russian music composer, also known as Night on the Bare Mountain, is a series of compositions by Modest Mussorgsky (1839–1881). If you are curious about his supernatural creation of this musical piece you can read about it here on wikipedia.
As with all these shorts, the audio and music are being used from megatrax http://www.megatrax.com/. They have an excellent library to pull from. The length of time for this animation has not been determined yet. As the storyboard is put together, it will be posted here. The production shots will also be posted as it continues. The final version will appear on my youtube channel within the coming months.
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Updated Concept art for Satan
This is an updated concept for Satan the fallen son of God.
A finished concept for Satan the phases are the transformation from seraph or seraphim to Satan. A seraph (/ˈsɛr.əf/, "the burning one"; pl. seraphs or seraphim /ˈsɛr.ə.fɪm/, in the King James Version also seraphims
2 Seraphs were in attendance above him; each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.
3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
when the morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings[a] shouted for joy?
(the sons of God are also called the morning stars) How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
How the oppressor has ceased! How his insolence[b] has ceased! 5 The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of rulers, 6 that struck down the peoples in wrath with unceasing blows, that ruled the nations in anger with unrelenting persecution. 7 The whole earth is at rest and quiet; they break forth into singing. 8 The cypresses exult over you, the cedars of Lebanon, saying, “Since you were laid low, no one comes to cut us down.” 9 Sheol beneath is stirred up to meet you when you come; it rouses the shades to greet you, all who were leaders of the earth; it raises from their thrones all who were kings of the nations. 10 All of them will speak and say to you: “You too have become as weak as we! You have become like us!” 11 Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, and the sound of your harps; maggots are the bed beneath you, and worms are your covering. 12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly on the heights of Zaphon;[c] 14 I will ascend to the tops of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the Pit.
(The goddesses of the ancients had staves, the ancient gods and goddesses established by Satan, also referenced in the Book of Enoch)
the sons of God saw that they were fair; and they took wives for themselves of all that they chose.
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
2 Peter 2:4
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 1: 6-10
In the Book of Revelation (iv. 4–8) the seraphim are described as being forever in God's presence and praising him: "Day and night with out ceasing they sing: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.'" However this account differs slightly from the account of Isaiah, stating in the eighth verse, "Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings."
They appear also in the Gnostic text On the Origin of the World (or the world egg). Known as Sophia, greek for wisdom. The sea serpent, and the dragon. Sophia is a goddess of wisdom by Gnostics, as well as by some Neopagan, New Age, and Goddess spirituality groups. The same goddesses established by the fallen sons of God on Earth through wisdom to man. The same goddesses as Isis, Ishtar and all offshoots that were designed to lead men astray from God. The same wisdom as seen in the Garden of Eden (Sophia) the temptress, also became known as Lilith that led Adam and Eve astray from the Lord. Satan appears as a hero in the gnostic texts, and Sophia the consort to Jesus. All meant to undermine the authenticity of Jesus. The original goal of the fallen angels was to stop the Messiah's birth, Moshiach or God's annointed one. By preventing his birth, they would seemingly prevent their own judgment from transpiring. Twisting every creature that God created as man could not compete with Goliath of men, and dinosaurs such as the thunder lizard. Their extinction was our preservation.
[ Israel’s Redemption ] On that day the Lord with his cruel and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will kill the dragon that is in the sea. Isaiah 27:1
Seraphim appear in the 2nd-century BC Book of Enoch where they are mentioned, in conjunction with cherubim, as the heavenly creatures standing nearest to the throne of God. They are also called the Ikisat (Ethiopic: አክይስት—"serpents", "dragons"; an alternate term for Hell) which, along with the cherubim and Paradise, are under the rule of Gabriel.
In the Second Book of Enoch, two classes of celestial beings are equated with the seraphim and cherubim, known as the phoenixes and the chalkydri (from Gr. χαλκύδραι khalkýdrai, compd. of χαλκός khalkós "brass", "copper" + 'ύδρα hýdra "hydra", "water-serpent"—lit. "brazen hydras", "copper serpents"). Both are described as "flying elements of the sun" that reside in either the 4th or 6th heaven, who have twelve wings and burst into song at sunrise.
You can see the same echo in most literature. In modern anime/manga you can see the same refrain being mirrored as gnosticism with Deadman wonderland's wretched egg (Earth) where she is trapped in a prison, she's a murderer, covered in red eyes, travels between Deadman Wonderland( a prison of torture where no one can see her and they give candy, and prisoners are disemboweled in front of each other, a dual personality albino girl, a red gem put inside a boy, she is the original sin, she teaches sin of blood magic(the Lord cursed in the Bible), killing his friends out of jealousy that he was happy and she was not, she is afflicted and suffers torture). This is just one example of thousands in our literary world.
Don't think you're being influenced, think again. Nothing of inspiration is by chance, but Divine. Satan is not a he or her, but an androgynous fallen angel with no gender but beauty cursed, a beautiful thing damned and made ugly. The Quaran echoes the same passages to the fallen sons of God. Ouza, also Semyaza, Shemhazai, Amezyarak, Azza, and Uzza, was a major leader of the fall from heaven in Christian mythology, one of the angels that came down from heaven alongside Azazel to interbreed with humans. Ouza before the fall was of the rank of Seraphim.
19. Have ye seen Lat and 'Uzza,
20. And another, the third (goddess), Manat?
21. Shall the male gender be yours and the female be His?
22. Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair!
23. These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord!
There is too much to cover on why Satan is linked to Seraphim or the Seraph. Satan, in the Bible was the fallen son of God. (Satan means adversary in Hebrew, Shaitan means Devil, distant in Arabic) This has become the name for the fallen ones. The dragon of Heaven in Revelation.
[ Michael Defeats the Dragon ] And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back,
His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.
(that child is Mary and Jesus)
[ Michael Defeats the Dragon ] And war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back,
The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
[ The Dragon Fights Again on Earth ] So when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
(Once again Mary and Jesus)
This animation will reflect this in a short but sweet animation. I will also be writing a book on this soon called the Outcasts of Heaven.
